Acknowledgemenets
I would like to express my sincere appreciation and respect to all the many talented people who contributed their time and expertise to the 2003 Edition of the Canola Growers Manual.
The list of contributors includes federal, provincial, university and private scientists and agrologists. The new manual represents a substantial advancement in canola agronomic knowledge compared to the first edition published in 1985. For canola growers, the 2003 Edition is a state-of-the-art manual for canola production in Canada.
I would like to give special recognition to Murray Hartman, the Provincial Oilseed Specialist with Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development at Lacombe, AB. Murray's considerable investment of time and effort in the masterful revision and writing of the "Soil Fertility and Canola Nutrition," "Crop Rotations and Seedbed Preparation" and "Crop Establishment" are deeply appreciated. Further, I would like to thank Dr. John Mills of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Winnipeg, MB for his excellent contribution to the "Canola Storage" chapter.
