  • Alberta Canola Energy Centre Plan Progressing
    October 8, 2008
    Stettler County, Alberta could become the site of a major canola biodiesel processing facility. Greenlab Energy Canada gave its proposal to county officials for a plant capable of converting 625,000 metric tonnes of seed into canola oil annually.

    Stettler County's council has approved 155 acres of land to be used for a multi-million dollar facility that will extract oil from canola and produce biodiesel. The plant will also produce byproducts including livestock feed and is expected to develop a biofuels research university and business park.
